Brandy Norwood To Receive Icon Honor

Singer and Actress, Brandy Norwood has been announced as a recipient of a major Recording Academy honor at an official event during GRAMMY Week 2026.

Brandy will be honored at the Recording Academy Honors ceremony, presented by the Recording Academy’s Black Music Collective (BMC).

The event is scheduled for Thursday, January 29, 2026, at the Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles.

The Black Music Icon Award, recognizes Black music creators whose artistry, innovation and service have shaped the music industry and inspired generations. Brandy will share the honor with fellow music legends Pharrell Williams (who gets the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award) and Kirk Franklin (also receiving the Black Music Icon Award).

This ceremony is part of GRAMMY Week 2026, leading up to the 68th Annual GRAMMY Awards, which take place on February 1, 2026 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

The Black Music Collective honors celebrate music legends and support community and industry initiatives championed by the Recording Academy.

This recognition adds to Brandy’s long list of career achievements as a multi-platinum, GRAMMY-winning artist and influential creative force in music and entertainment. ++
