Songstress Simone Green’s Black Queen Sound off on Resilience
"Black Queen" is the latest single to be released from powerhouse vocalist and culture-activist, Simone Green. The female empowerment anthem was written by Simone Green and Jeffrey Dillard and produced by SFR and Arnell Newman. Simone's forthcoming album, "Black Queen" will be globally released on her birthday, August 8, 2026.
“Black Queen” is a breakthrough, a release and return to self, reframing strength as something you don’t perform, you embody. The single was released towards the end of Black History Month, and it honors Black womanhood as lived truth - resilience, tender, radiant and real. It is powerful on its own terms. Rooted in soul, shaped by lived experience and standing firmly in truth.
The visuals for "Black Queen" were directed by Tiffany Ray and Arnell Newman. "The video was inspired by my real life—an authentic, unapologetic glimpse into what it means to walk in my shoes as a Black woman. I wanted to show the balance of my worlds: leading in my career as the director of a legal staffing firm, prioritizing my health and discipline in the gym, and embracing joy, love, and connection with my husband and friends. Every scene reflects the fullness of who I am—a modern Black Queen who moves with purpose, grace, strength, and celebration,” shares Simone Green.
